What are the Research Student Symposia?

These weeks are designed to facilitate a number of important requirements for the Faculty's research students and to provide an opportunity for research students, supervisors, staff and invited guests to interact in formal and informal settings.

The RSS are comprised mainly of student presentations, in which research students make a presentation on their work to date, issues arising from their research project, or on other aspects of their research. Doctoral and Masters assessments are also held during the RSS. The RSS includes workshops around specific topics, such as data analysis, writing and research project management. Student meetings between research students and Faculty research management staff are held during this time. Presentations in the form of plenary sessions by invited guests from areas such as the government, health services, other universities and the Faculty are also a part of the RSS.

Who has to attend the Research Student Symposia?

EVERYONE! It is expected that all research students who are not on leave of absence or under examination attend. Supervisors of current research students are also expected to attend.
